About Aashaa Bora Foundation

imageAashaa Bora Foundation was established in 1991-92, duly registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 which is a non-profitable, non-governmental and non-political organization. Since inception the organization has been conducting a lot of social development activities in its jurisdiction from own sources and with co-operation of community and other Govt agencies

Aashaa Bora Foundation was started by a women Entrepreneur – Dr. Aashaa Bora. She was involved in a number of social activities and primarily encouraging the entrepreneurship skill of woman.

Honour’s & Awards received by Dr. Aashaa Bora:

  • The Best Businesswoman of the state by North East Women Entrepreneurs’ Association for the year 2005 – 2006.
  • 12th Signature award winner 2010.
  • Elected as a delegate to go to South Africa from NSIC.
  • Elected as a delegate to go to France for an exhibition from NSIC.
  • Elected as a delegate to visit Egypt by CII.

Objective of Aashaa Bora Foundation:

  • To protect and promote the rights and interest of the rural people of Assam.
  • To protect the spirit of co-operation, peace harmony and unity among the rural people of Assam.
  • To encourage, promote and assist voluntary action in the implementation of projects for the enhancement of rural prosperity.
  • To strengthen and promote voluntary efforts in rural development with focus on injecting new technology inputs in this behalf.
  • To endeavour for moral, educational, social, intellectual, physical, materials and cultural improvement of rural areas in Assam.
  • To assist and promote scientific research programmes, women and child development programmes, agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, floriculture development programmes, irrigation development programmes, drainage construction programmes, flood management programmes, promotion of voluntary action and employment generation programmes, community development programmes, tribal welfare programme, air pollution control projects, physically and mentally handicapped development programmes, wasteland development programmes, etc.
  • To develop rural link roads construction programmes, communication development programmes, social forestry programmes, mass communication programmes, medical and health care programmes, construction of rural hospital and dispensary projects, rural drinking water supply programmes, rural sanitation programmes, rural educational development programmes, non-formal education programmes, rural industry development programmes, food processing industries development programmes, socio-economic development programmes, khadi and village industries development programmes, environmental and ecological development programmes, non-conventional source of energy projects, relief of emergencies, rehabilitation and disaster programmes, social welfare programmes, child welfare programmes, promotion of national integration programmes, youth affairs and sports development programmes of the rural of Assam.
  • To render to the rural people who are victims of natural calamities such as flood, drought, fire, cyclone, earthquake, disasters and epidemic, etc.
  • To fight against exploitation, oppression, repression atrocities, drugs, alcoholism and injustice, etc.
  • To act as a catalyst for development to technology appropriate for rural areas, by identifying and funding research and development efforts and pilot projects, etc.
  • To assist and promote programmes aimed at conservation of the environment and nature resources.
  • To collaborate with other institutions, associations and societies in India or abroad including concerned international agencies constitutions of the UN system interested to similar projects.
  • To conduct or sponsor training programmes, conference, lectures and seminars on rural development activities or particular interest to women and women empowerment with and accent improved technologies appropriate to their role in life development.
  • To conduct or sponsor training programmes for trainers, particularly in the voluntary sectors, so that improved technology in disseminated to participants in development in the rural areas.
  • To conduct or sponsor training programmes, seminars, workshop and meeting to promote interaction between government agencies and voluntary agencies working in the field of rural development technology.
  • To produce documentary and feature films, print and publish papers, periodicals, monograph and books in furtherance of the object of the society.
  • To publish journals for the promotion of the aims and objects of the society.
  • To act in collaboration with Central and State Governments and other appropriate agencies for formulation and execution of projects which would further the objects as set out above to accept any grants or funds and donation for the said purpose.
  • To make donation to public charitable trusts, institution recognised under Section 12 – A/80/G of Income Tax Act 1961.
